We spent two months breaking Wayland Desktop on purpose. The app got big, fast, and big and fast is exciting right up until the morning you click something and it dies on you. So we stopped adding, and went after the boring things nobody sees. We pulled down the weak links and rebuilt them properly, chased the failures you reported all the way to the bottom instead of patching the symptom, and wrote more test code than app code, deliberately, because the only way to know something is solid is to spend two months trying to break it and keep failing. This is not a feature you unlock. It is an app that stops arguing with you.
One example, because a claim like this is worth nothing without one. The app used to land on an error screen about one launch in six and sit there until you reloaded it by hand. It had been doing that for weeks. Nothing caught it, because the error handler swallowed the crash before a single test could see it. We found it. It is gone. That is the shape of this whole release: we chased the failures you reported all the way to the bottom, rather than patching the symptom and moving on.
Wayland Nano. Rust, properly sandboxed, speaks the agent protocol natively, and a great deal lighter and quicker than anything we have shipped before. It runs alongside Wayland Core, not instead of it. Pick it from the menu and it goes.
A completely new way to fly the app. We are offering it as a choice, not forcing it on you, because you did not ask to have your workflow rearranged. Classic is still there.
Engine updated to Wayland Core v0.13.0. If you run a big connected server, you have spent months staring at tools folded into useless placeholder names, unable to call half of them. Fixed. A 101 tool server now shows you 101 real tools.
Dictation runs on device from a fresh install. The model is already in the package, so there is nothing to fetch and no connection required.
Point five agents at one shared workspace, each on whatever backend and model you want. And you can install new agents from inside the app now, with pinned versions, verified checksums, and your explicit yes every single time.
The least visible thing here, and one of the most important. Every build carries a capability seal bound to the exact source commit it came from, and the engine, the Nano runtime, and the authoring runtime are each pinned by release tag and verified three ways before use.
